  9. When ordering Uedit, print this page on your printer.  Circle or mark what
  10. you are paying for.

  12. All payments must be in cash, check, or money order, in US currency.

  14. Checks and money orders must have Bank Routing Numbers at the bottom of them
  15. and be negotiable at a US bank or post office.

  20. When registering, include the Serial Number of the Uedit you are using.  Get
  21. the serial number by selecting Show Vals in the menu.

  24.     A.  $60, Uedit with printed user reference manual & Uedit D-ring binder.
  25.     B.  $50, Uedit with printed user reference manual (for std 3-hole binder).
  26.     C.  $45, Uedit with complete user reference manual on disk.

  28. Registration includes:
  29.     * the fully customizable Uedit.
  30.     * complete documentation, according to A or B or C above.
  31.     * ready to use environment, and source configuration files.
  32.     * tutorial, help, and teach keys facilities.
  33.     * automatic notice of upgrades.
  34.     * registered user Serial Number.
  35.     * shareware version to distribute with your s/n in it.
  36.     * $15 commissions when others register submitting your s/n.

  49. As a registered user, you will earn a commission when somebody submits your
  50. serial number when registering.

  53. Extras disk:  It has configs, emulations, and commands submitted by users.
  54. Emulations include Ustar by Kurt Wessels, VI by Eric Kennedy, and EDT by
  55. Kent McPherson.  These emulate WordStar (tm), the Unix vi (tm) editor, and
  56. the DEC Gold Key (tm) editor.

  59.                               Refresh Policy
  60.  
  61. If you own the current upgrade, you are encouraged to ask for a "refresh" a
  62. few months after you received the upgrade, so that you will have the final,
  63. fixed, improved release.  No new upgrade is perfect on the first release. 
  64. Not only are bugs a fact of life in the world of software and fixes are put
  65. in after each new upgrade comes out, but also some of the best enhancements
  66. are put in AFTER the initial upgrade comes out.  (User feedback is why.)  You
  67. can get a "refresh" anytime by sending $3 or your Uedit disk and sase.

  71.                                Sharing Uedit

  73. You can give people a copy of the Shareware Uedit.  When you give away
  74. copies, you must observe the following restrictions:
  75.  
  76. ***  You must distribute ALL of Uedit's Shareware files together.
  77.      These are in the Shareware directory of the Uedit disk.
  78.  
  79. ***  You must NOT MODIFY any of those files except for putting your serial
  80.      number into UES.
  81.  
  82. ***  You must NOT distribute copies of UE or the printed or disk Manual or
  83.      Uedit's command language documentation or spell-checking materials.  You
  84.      may distribute ONLY the Shareware directory and must NOT distribute any
  85.      file that is in the Private directories.

  87. *** You MUST use Uedit COPYRIGHT notices on Uedit files.

  89. *** You MUST use Uedit TRADEMARK notices on "Uedit".

  91. You may include your own files along with Uedit, put files on several
  92. diskettes, distribute files via modem, or compress files, as long as their
  93. contents remain unchanged.

  95. You may print, copy, and distribute the Help! and other text files in the
  96. Shareware directory.

  98. Please encourage others to try Uedit.  In distributing it and encouraging new
  99. registrations, you will be supporting good programming for Amiga Shareware.

  101. And your feedback is important too.  Most of the improvements in Uedit since
  102. the beginning have been in response to feedback from its users.

  106.                             Revision Numbering
  107.  
  108. When a new version comes out, the old version number is incremented by 0.1. 
  109. Thus, if the current version is V2.4a, the next true upgrade will be V2.5a.
  110.  
  111. When bugs are fixed in a version, the release letter is incremented.  Thus if
  112. 2.4a has bugs, the fixed release is 2.4b.
  113.  
  114. If you own a version such as V2.4a and bugs are found in it and a V2.4b is
  115. released, you may get V2.4b by sending in $3 or your V2.4a diskette, a self
  116. addressed mailer, and postage.

  120.                               About Shareware
  121.  
  122. Shareware is a generous, trusting concept which treats you like an honest
  123. person, rather than presuming that you are not, as, for instance, copy
  124. protection does.
  125.  
  126. Some think that shareware is only for beginners and that any good program
  127. would go commercial.  Wrong!  Shareware exists because of its values. 
  128. Successful shareware programs have got to be superior, because you get to
  129. try them out thoroughly at home or in the office before buying them.  Many
  130. commercial programs would not survive this acid test.

  132. You are allowed to try out a Shareware program for as long as you require, in
  133. order to decide whether you are going to use it or not.

  135. When "trying" becomes "using", you are obliged to buy the program.
  136.  
  137. Only then does the Shareware author get paid for his work and expenses for
  138. creating and supporting the program you are using.
  139.  
  140. Uedit relies on:
  141.         * Your honesty.
  142.         * Your cooperation in safeguarding Uedit by not distributing its
  143.           private files.
  144.         * Your help in finding new customers.
